3 Must See Sights In Buenos Aires

Plaza de Mayo

The Spanish and European style architecture is very noticeable when exploring the city. The most impressive architecture is located around Plaza de Mayo. A highlight is the ‘pink house’ called Casa Rosada which is the office of the President and a museum. This city square has been the location for Argentina’s major historical events.

Caminito

Located next to the Boca Juniors stadium ‘La Bombonera’ is the Caminito. Closeby we were entertained by the kids' impressive football skills on an enclosed concrete pitch.

The Caminito is a street museum with colourful houses made out of wood and sheet metal. There are souvenir shops, tango dancers and artists selling their work.

La Recoleta Cemetery

Contains the graves of many remarkable people. It has been rated as one of the world's most beautiful cemeteries.

The entry to the cemetery is through large neoclassical gates and greek style columns. The 4691 above ground graves contain many marble monuments and a variety of architectural styles. The main walkway is lined with trees. The cemetery is set out in a grid-like format, however, it’s still very easy to get lost without a map.
