How To Explore Iguazú Falls?

Iguazú Falls is one of the new seven wonders of nature.

We got an early morning bus from our hotel (La Cantera Lodge de Selva) to the border of Argentina and Brazil. We stayed on the Argentinian side. Most of the falls are on this side. It is the largest waterfall system in the world and is dividing into upper and lower Iguazú. 

A train took us to the upper section first where we had to walk along a path above the wide river to see the largest and highest section of the falls. The waterfall was so powerful that the mist blocked some of the views.

The other upper circuit had smaller waterfalls and the paths took us directly over the waterfalls. It is very hard to stay dry therefore I highly recommend wearing raincoats.

We saw many Coatimundi scavenging for food from tourists. They are members of the racoon family and were fascinating to watch.

After lunch, we went to the lower sections to get close to the base of the waterfalls. This was my favourite area of the falls. The splash from the powerful waterfalls created rainbows.

We finished off an amazing adventure with a boat ride. It took us along the river and directly under a waterfall several times. I was sitting at the front of the open boat. The waterfall was so powerful I couldn’t open my eyes or sit up straight. We were given much needed waterproof bags for our backpacks.
