Visit The Inspiration For Disneyland

Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Germany. When Walt Disney visited the castle he received his inspiration for the design of Disneyland.

There was one lookout that we were there to see, Marienbrücke, for the best view. I suggest getting there very early, especially on the weekend if the weather is good. We arrived at Neuschwanstein Castle at around 10.00 am on a Saturday but it was raining. From the paid car park we hiked up the mountain for about 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can get the bus or the horse and carriage. There were not many people and we didn’t have to wait to go across the bridge and up to the lookout. However, 1 hour later when we came back down there was a massive line. The bridge is free of charge, however, if you want to go inside the castle it costs €13. On the opposite mountain, there is another impressive castle called Hohenschwangau.
